Best Quality Cinnamon Powder

I use Ceylon Cinnamon in my coffee. This is not Ceylon, it is Saigon Cinnamon. The Pepper flavor is intense. Do not buy….Totally a fraud. Amazon you are getting worse and worse with product representation.

This is not real Ceylon, I have been buying and consuming it for years. I use 2-3 lbs of this annually. The consistency and smell is off. It smells like poor quality potpourri and is very faint in comparison to the Ceylon I’ve had in my cubboard for the last 4 months. The color and consistency also looks different from what I usually purchase. I tried this brand because of the Fair Trade guarantee but it seems like the trade wasn’t fair at all, seeing as this is definitely closely resembling cassia cinnamon. I eat too much cinnamon daily, so it’s scary when you are sent something different than what you purchased. Cassia cinnamon can damage your liver and stomach, and other areas of your body if consumed in high amounts..

My wife decided to try this since it was rated highly. I had been very happy with her previous choices of “Ceylon Cinnamon.” So, I opened this new package with great expectations and a big inhalation through my nose. Wow!….nothing there, nobody home, no joy, nada. It had a faint, sweet smell but it didn’t smell like cinnamon! I was ready to put in my coffee as I have done for years to combat small joint arthritis. I could not even tell I had added any spice to the coffee. I wish I could send it back. It is a looser in my book. Any of the other Ceylon cinnamons are fine but this stuff just doesn’t work for me at all. If you really like the traditional spicy cinnamon, stay away from this stuff.

This is my secret weapon for blood sugar control. I am a type II diabetic Metformin was causing problems. I read that Cinnamon works as an alternative to such drugs. Ceylon Cinnamon is supposed to be the best of the 5 types of Cinnamon available. I tried is and it works very, very well for me. Much better then the Metformin without any side affects. I just take a half teaspoon morning and evening. It is amazing.

I started taking 2 round teaspoons a day, 12 hours apart in Jan 2018. I first purchased the Organic Wise. Then I purchased this Frontier, thought I could save 10 bucks. Bad choice! Frontier tastes really bad – woody and no aroma. Won’t buy it again. Update 3/27: Can’t stand the taste and the texture. Had to throw it away, not edible!

I recently acquired this form of cinnamon mainly for my son who has special needs and loves cinnamon. I prepare all his meals and every time I add the more common Cassia cinnamon (Kirkland Saigon Cinnamon) we usually have on hand I wonder how much is too much before it could be harmful. I decided to go with Ceylon so now I don’t have to worry about that. Of course I had to test some myself and I have to say that this cinnamon, apart from being safer to consume, is also extremely delicious and perfectly aromatic. It just has this incredible flavor that is superior to any of the other cinnamon I have ever had. The truth is I used to think the Kirkland brand of Cassia/Saigon was excellent in terms of flavor (although a safety concern) but this Frontier Ceylon puts the Kirkland in a very distant second place in terms of flavor and the huge bonus of also not being a safety concern. How perfect that it is both safer to consume and surprisingly much tastier. Describing flavor is not easy to articulate but this Frontier Ceylon we received is complex and yet subtle. It just hits all the right notes as far as I am concerned. Do yourself a favor and whether it be for life experience of trying something incredibly tasty, or just because it is safer to consume than Cassia (or both reasons), try some of this incredible cinnamon.

My cardiologist recommended 1/2 tsp cinnamon per day added to oat cereals to help lower cholesterol and other health benefits. But it HAS to be REAL cinnamon, Cinnamomum Verum (known as Sri Lanka or Ceylon cinnamon). Because other types of “cinnamon” contain elevated levels of coumarin I was told to avoid them; especially the C.Cassia variety. I will update when I reorder.Update Sept. 2018:
My LDL cholesterol level dropped 80 points in 6 months by eating one packet of instant oatmeal with 1/2 tsp of this cinnamon each morning. This was the only change I made to my diet/exercise routine and it was a pleasant one. I reordered and will continue to do so in the future.

I paid $20.57 for 1 lb. of Frontier Cinnamon. I mention this because on the day of this writing, it is $37.99 per lb. – almost twice as much. My family likes the flavor and finds it to be a good quality cinnamon, but I do wish that companies would realize that when people are willing to pay so much for an organic spice, some of those people might be worried about ingesting chemicals. In other words, glass packaging would be my preference. Just mentioning this, because @ $20.00 it was an issue for me, but I purchased it & repackaged it upon arrival. @ $40.00, I wouldn’t have purchased it at all. After all, I do need to have some grocery money left to purchase the food I use the spices with 🙂

The expiration date was far enough out that I didn’t even feel the need to label it when I repackaged it, because I knew we’d use it before then. We probably use more cinnamon than the average family, but if you’re considering a 1 lb package, I’m guessing you’re not the average family either.

Frontier cinnamon is good quality, organic, no additives, and has good flavor. So, I would recommend this product at the price I paid.
