I got the bag and opened it. First thing I smelled was a strong aroma which meant it is going to be a great product. I then looked inside the bag and saw that it had a lot of husks with a minimal amount of black seeds and twigs which is a good thing because at the Asian supermarket they gave me a load of seeds and twigs with little husk. I’m Asian by the way I don’t discriminate against my supermarkets 😆. The husk are what gives you that numbing sensation and tingly feeling which is key for cooking with these peppercorns. I then looked at my girlfriend and said imma do this so I grabbed a husk and popped one in my mouth and spat it out about two minutes later. Shortly to follow my mouth was tingly and started to be numb for about 5 to 10 minutes. I later on said to my girlfriend who was laughing and told her this stuff is legit and I will never quit. Yimi will now be my amazon go to for these peppercorns until they do me dirty 😆. But so far so good

These are some high quality sichuan peppercorns. Flavor is spot on and the numbing effect is strong. I will be buying these again.

I have been trying to find good sichuan peppercorns for years and they are difficult to find. This is one of the few brands selling excellent quality sichuan peppercorns.

Never had true Szechuan peppercorns until I visited my son who was using these. Unlike pure heat which is what the Chinese buffets do, a true Szechuan will numb your tongue and have a distinct pepper flavor unlike any other.

I’ve never written a review for an Amazon product before, but I felt obligated this time. The red Szechuan peppercorns simply are not what was advertised. As opposed to being “A++++++ quality” they are at least 50{98880d97af0555a3a517c8aae666eeb64e7bd6d49cbbe05617dcb138f6e48200} sticks and seeds. Really low quality. The taste is fine enough, but these just are such drastically lower quality than they are made out to be. If you are looking for a decent quantity of high quality Szechuan peppercorns (i.e. ones that are extremely light on seeds, stems, gravel, etc.) then look elsewhere. Really frustrating.

Compared to other sources on Amazon, these are pretty good… fairly fresh and strong. But still no where CLOSE to the freshness and strength that I used to buy in Chengdu. The price is crazy high also, but I understand that to some degree. I wish someone would come up with a packaging technology that preserved the freshness better. This is the closest I’ve had so far in the US. Really nice flavor. I just have to use too much of the product to get the effect I want.
