Bought one 33.8 ounce jar of this initially to try it out after reading the innumerable health benefits associated with authentic Red Palm Oil from West Africa(not the Malaysian Red Palm Oil where orangutans native only to this region’s habitats ARE being destroyed by pervasive replanting). All I can say though is after one spoonful I’m hooked on it’s unique and delicious taste which is almost a very light(not spicy) yet clean barbecue sauce-like flavor.
Am absolutely enraptured with this product that supposedly you can cook with too, but I take a tablespoon or two per day straight from the jar(bought the glass one incidentally). While I’m not familiar with other brands which might be just as good in quality and as deeply red colored, I know for a fact that Juka Red Palm Oil is the real thing. And although I’m still on my first jar, I ended up purchasing two more as “backups”. This is great stuff. Thanks for this.

When I first received the product the cap cracked but thankfully it didn’t spill. I have locs and was looking forward to the many claims on red oil contributing to hair growth. I tried this around my edges at first. It stains and leaves a orange color on my skin but disappears after a few hours. I then used it as a hot oil treatment before shampooing. I shampooed a few times until the color appeared white and not orange. The only thing I do not like is the staining. I look at my work clothes when I come home and I have orange stains on my shoulders. Other than that it seems to be working.
You only need a very little amount when using. I also would have preferred glass rather than a plastic container.

This oil is delicious and healthy for me and my Bedlington Terrier. Besides ordering the oil in the glass jar for me and my dog, I had the smaller plastic container sent to my friend for her African Gray Parrot and her family. Unfortunately, my jar had a loose cap and it leaked profusely. Less than an hour after writing to the company about it, I received a phone call from Juka’s, and the offer of a fresh bottle being sent to me. Obviously, they have turned me into a life-long customer. I will not order any other brand, but Juka’s. I rarely write reviews, but this company has earned my loyalty.
Update 6/29/14: The new bottle of oil arrived quickly via priority mail, and in perfect condition. I will recommend this company to everyone I know.

I was excited about trying this wonderful oil BUT the jar, while beautifully packaged, did have the inner seals intact. The outer seal on the outside was intact but once I unscrewed the lid it was obvious the inner seal was not. The inner seal consisted of two different seals. This is a good plan, but neither one was sealed properly and the oil had leaked all over the place inside which made a sticky mess on my hands. Not sure whether it was still safe to use or not I tasted a little on my hands and it was rancid. I want to believe this company wants to supply a good product, but on this jar somebody goofed.
UPDATE:
A representative from Juka’s contacted me and apologized and offered to send me a replacement in a glass jar. The person I talked to was so pleasant to speak with and urged me to contact Amazon for a full refund and that they would assist me if I had trouble. The jar arrived quickly and was in perfect condition. This company happily stands behind their product.
