So first, it’s a lot of pepper! I went ahead and put the bag in a zip lock bag and sealed it up to maintain freshness.
Second… DO NOT assume this is the same as your ground pepper. I repeat. DO NOT assume. Learn from the mistakes of my youth. When I first bought the pepper, I said… Great! and proceeded to put the same amount of pepper I normally do on my food. Rookie mistake. I was very soon in the fridge simultaneously drinking milk and pressing the carton to my now red sweaty face. Did I mention I use a lot of pepper? Yeah, not anymore! This pepper is FRESH! and you will need much much less than regular ground pepper. Just a little word of wisdom as you embark on this fresh pepper journey.
In short, I would definitely recommend this pepper and that you taste test as you add, young grasshopper.

Unfortunately, as I am accustomed to receiving items that are NOT as advertised and therefore it did not occur to me to check and make sure I had in reality received what I had paid for and what was pictured in the description.
Buyer beware.

These peppercorns have a very floral smell to it, almost lemony like Szechuan peppers. I am a spicy food fanatic, so I cannot critique on the spiciness of these peppers. When I chew on the peppercorn whole, they leave a very nice warmth in the mouth and throat similar to whiskey and you can smell the floralness of the peppers. I pair this with a OXO Good Grips Lewis Pepper Mill allowing me to crank out a ton of ground pepper (even with wet hands) and have the ease of refilling. Remember to keep these in an airtight jar to preserve the flavor as long as possible. I believe these pepper are the LAMPONG variant since I did some research on the different pepper taste profiles.
