This tuna (StarKist Selects E.V.O.O. Solid Yellowfin Tuna in Extra Virgin Olive Oil – 4.5 oz Can (Pack of 12)) is absolutely delicious, and will help me eat more healthfully! The tuna is still intact in chunks (too much canned tuna these days, including other StarKist lines, sadly are not), and the olive oil tastes fresh with just a hint of salt. I appreciate the easy tab opening — no need to bring out the can opener.

I have been mixing a can of this tuna into my salads, making a hearty, well balanced meal — latest salad tonight was comprised of a few large handfuls of arugula, a fresh mandarin orange peeled and separated into slices, a chopped up avocado, a sliced red pepper, a few thin slices of sweet onion, and this tasty tuna, dressed in EVOO, apple cider vinegar, honey, mustard and freshly ground black pepper. This meal takes literally 10m to put together. Another recent meal: a can of this tuna, drained of about half the EVOO, tossed with a whole chopped apple, half a chopped cucumber, a splash of balsamic vinegar, and some freshly ground black pepper. It was so tasty and easy; I didn’t even bother peeling the apple or cucumber.

Basically, this tuna goes with just about any fruit or vegetable you’d put in a salad, and the fact that it comes with its own decent olive oil makes it even easier. I’m constantly improvising with it, especially when I don’t have time to cook a meal.

Plus, each case of 12 cans came in the original manufacturer’s box, well protected in Amazon’s shipping box (all recycled, of course) — so no dents!

I ordered three dozen cans already, and will be back for more.

March 31, 2020 UPDATE: Well, since this review I’ve ordered five more cartons of 12 in this variety (yellowfish tuna with EVOO), and a bunch more in the garlic and lemon varieties! For tuna lovers, I truly can’t recommend this enough, especially as backup nutrition/food during times like these. These cans also minimize the chances of COVID spread – you can let them sit on their own for 3-5 days, then wipe them down before opening/consuming.

This is my absolute favorite tuna. The EVOO makes it a hundred times better, plus it gives you lots of healthy fats. It does not taste overly fishy like a lot of canned tuna does. It’s not flaky and gross. This stuff is literally the best tuna I have ever found. The cans do dent easily but and they did during shipping but it didn’t hurt the actual tuna.

Bonus is they are pop-top cans! Which is so convenient when you’re on the go and don’t have a can opener.

If you don’t like canned fish, you probably aren’t reading this listing anyway, so this review is just for people who do actually like canned fish to begin with. I find that tuna packed in olive oil is easier to use – you don’t actually need salad dressing on this at all in a sandwich or salad, you could squeeze off most (75{98880d97af0555a3a517c8aae666eeb64e7bd6d49cbbe05617dcb138f6e48200}) of the oil and use it just like that. I could be wrong but I always thought olive oil was better for you than mayo, so this seems healthier. I have tried various tunas packed in olive oil, and I like this one and one that is imported from Italy – if you are watching cholesterol and fat, give it a try!

I love these so much going back to regular tuna after this is so hard. The price is steep imho but there so good…. Just a warning the last 2 cases i got the cans are all full of oily stuff on them soaked in it… The labels are not even fully on them they seemed to cut corners during the pandemic… It is a pain to clean them and what was that oil all over them for 2 cases? Is it safe who knows i ate them anyways cause they was sealed but you got to wonder what happened… I had many cans dented as usual so try to buy local if you can. I recommend this product i was always cheap and bought the cheaper stuff but wow i love this stuff add lemon salt so in heaven just eating out of a can for a meal.

This is ABSOLUTELY what I have been looking for after the Genova brand went downhill a decade ago. Meaty, flavorful, perfect by the bite right out of the can, even better if you have some nice bread to dip it in and something with a bit of acid, like balsamic vinegar. I’m so glad I took the leap on 12 cans of this. The pop top makes it even better. Will be taking as the perfect protein+ fat to keep me going on long hikes this summer.

I love this tuna. It tastes great and is packed in olive oil, which is a big plus for those of us who like flavor. I wanted to order more today, but it apparently isn’t being sold because some people had complained about it. I read the reviews from some disgruntled (probably overly picky) people who were upset about the consistency of the tuna. While it may be that you don’t always get a solid chunk of tuna or sometimes it’s packed a little looser than other times, you still get a whole can of tuna instead of a fourth of a can of flaked tuna and three quarters of water like the regular cans. I am really bummed that I can’t order this right now because of the complainers of the world. If you don’t like it, nobody forces you to order it. I hope Amazon has the good business sense to make this available again as soon as possible.
